Wrestlemania, the WWE’s biggest pay-per-view event of the year, takes place this Sunday in New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium, and the company has a bunch of events planned to involve its community in all the excitement. Among these events is the return of the WWE Superstar Challenge, a competition where wrestlers and other personalities take on each other in the virtual ring, through the means of a WWE licensed game. (It’s likely that this year’s event will feature 2K Sports’ forthcoming WWE 2K14, which was acquired from THQ earlier this year.)
Last year, WWE Diva A.J. Lee managed to overcome the sizable Mark Henry to become the champion, and will defend her title going into the competition this year, taking on Zack Ryder, Damien Sandow, Big E. Langston and other superstars. Aubrey Sitterson and Cory Ledesma from WWE Games will be on hand to provide live commentary for the event, which will be broadcast through Twitch.tv.
Good luck to A.J. on repeating her defense. We hear that Sandow guy is quite the cheater…
WWE 2K14 is set to be released this fall for various platforms.
