Ooh, yeah! “Macho Man” Randy Savage was one of the most charismatic and memorable characters from the World Wrestling Federation days, an icon that quickly rose to the top of the ranks. Paired with the lovely Miss Elizabeth, Savage had a number of classic matches, including bouts with Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat and his former ally, Hulk Hogan. He would leave and spend a few years in WCW before quietly retiring from the sport.
Sadly, Randy Savage, also known as Randy Poffo in real life, passed away in May 2011 from a heart attack. However, 2K Sports restored him to his classic glory in WWE 2K14 – and now his wrestling style is yours to command. Dig it!
How do I perform “Macho Man” Randy Savage’s flying elbow in WWE 2K14?
This is easily one of the best moves from the 80s and 90s eras, a simple yet effective top-rope maneuver where Savage sends his elbow flying into the chest of his opponent.
The first thing you need to do when using this move is to set up the opponent. You’ll have to highlight your signature/finisher by getting enough moves pulled off in the ring. Once you see it, text will appear below him, letting you know it’s ready. Set up your opponent in the middle of the ring and press Y or triangle, and Savage will scoop them up and send them flying down to the canvas. They’ll lie there while Savage performs a quick taunt.
After that, simply head over to one of the corners and start climbing the turnbuckle. Once you reach the top, press Y or triangle. Savage will pose for a quick moment before flying off and nailing his opponent.
There are two things to keep in mind. First, don’t dawdle. Once you have your opponent set up for the flying elbow, do it. Taking too long may cause them to get back up, forcing you to hold off on the elbow, or worse yet, miss it entirely.
Second, position your adversary in the center of the ring. If they’re too far off, Savage may not be able to effectively hit them.
What else can I do with “Macho Man” Randy Savage in WWE 2K14?
In the game, Randy is a wily wrestler, sometimes unpredictable and always physical. Use that to your advantage with a combination of slams and running moves. His clothesline is as powerful as they get in the game, and he does some good high-flying stuff outside the ring.
Play with him a bit, and don’t forget to check out his entrance. Ooh, yeah!
WWE 2K14 is available now for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
