Writing The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD – Part 2

Part 2 by Garitt Rocha
This article is over 11 years old and may contain outdated information

I’ve always considered myself a bigger fan of the top-down Zelda titles. Link to the Past and Link’s Awakening are my favorite games in the series, but Wind Waker definitely holds a special place in my heart as my favorite 3D Zelda game.

The game is just so full of personality, the world so full of color and the characters so full of charm. Wind Waker feels like a fairy-tale with all of its fantastical creatures, epic adventure and engaging environments, but also for its heavier, darker moments.

When I set out to write the main walkthrough for the guide, I looked to create a companion piece that carried these themes along with it. With Wind Waker, I wanted to do more than tell you where to go next. I wanted to create a character that would be your tour guide through the wonderful and awe-inspiring Great Sea. It was a challenge, but one I’m sure many of you will appreciate as you re-explore the world of Wind Waker, or see it for the first time.

Adding further to the character I tried to add to the guide, our designers have made page after page filled with character all its own. Art created by the Zelda team, excellent screenshots and interesting, dynamic borders all add personality to this guide. In short, it’s beautiful. I believe it fits right in with Wind Waker’s beautiful and fantastical imagery.

I have a feeling that you’re going to love playing Wind Waker with this guide at your side.

Wind Waker HD is right around the corner, so make sure you get you pre-order your copy of the guide, so you can have it on day one with your copy of the game.
