The popular naval MMO World of Warships is officially setting sail for consoles next year, according to an announcement by Wargaming St. Petersburg. World of Warships: Legends is scheduled to dock on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in 2019, with an Alpha Test coming this July for those who are interested in testing the waters prior to launch.
World of Warships was initially released exclusively for PC and Mac back in 2015. The upcoming World of Warships port will receive all of the major game updates that were previously released for the PC version, along with new content features exclusive to console players.
“World of Warships: Legends provides a fresh take on 20th century naval warfare by taking advantage of the power and capabilities of the most popular modern consoles,” said Wargaming in today’s press release.
Wargaming St. Petersburg is planning to host an Alpha Test for World of Warships: Legends next month. Aspiring testers from across the globe with knowledge of English are encouraged to participate. To sign up for the Alpha Test, head over to the official World of Warships: Legends website.
World of Warships: Legends does not have a set release date yet beyond the 2019 release window. However, Wargaming promises more information will be revealed about the upcoming console port at Gamescom 2018.
