Wolfenstein: The New Order was by far one of our favorite games in 2014. Stealth combat, brutal melee takedowns and excessively fun gun play aside, the story was one of the best to be told last year, and gamers are in for a treat with a standalone prequel just announced today.
Due out on May 5, 2015, Wolfenstein: The Old Blood will be arriving on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC platforms. As expected, B.J. Blazkowicz will be returning as the main protagonist, tasked with a two-part mission deep within Bavaria where he must infiltrate Castle Wolfenstein and steal the coordinates for General Deathshead’s compound.
Players can also expect to find a batch of new weapons and enemies, such as a maniacal prison warden in Rudi Jäger and the Den of Wolves, and the obsessed Nazi archeologist in The Dark Secrets of Helga Von Schabbs.
Wolfenstein: The Old Blood will be available via digital download only for $19.99. For gamers that can’t wait to get the Nazi killing hands on more information, the team at Bethesda plans to do a game play reveal at PAX East on March 6th and March 7th. Players looking to get themselves caught up prior to the release of the prequel are encouraged to pick up Wolfenstein: The New Order, a game for which we provided a full walkthrough and guide.
