The orchestrated video game tour accomplished its largest goal to date when its Level 3 Kickstarter campaign came to a close, surpassing its $250,000 initiative. With the goal met, the team, led by creator and video game composer Tommy Tallarico, can move forward with the new album, which will be recorded in studio with a 72-piece orchestra, a 60-person choir and a rock band. A movie is being planned as well.

“I’d be lying if I said I didn’t get a bit emotional yesterday when we finally achieved our goal,” said Tallarico in an update on the Kickstarter page. “It’s been such an honor for me over the past decade to help give video game music and the entire video game industry the artistic recognition it deserves.”

Video Games Live: Level 3 is expected to be released next year. Meanwhile, the tour will continue with new dates well into 2014. Congrats to Tommy and the team.
