There are a number of exciting things to look forward to during the Steam Autumn Festival, including a special livestream event from Vanimals.

During the event, viewers can help Vanimals create a mini-game that’ll be played by a character in the developer’s upcoming game, Undying.

Vanimals Will Build a Mini-Game for Undying Live During Steam’s Autumn Festival

If you're a fan of zombie games, you should take a moment to check out Undying, a unique game with an emotional twist developed by Vanimals.

In the game, you play as a mother named Anling who gets bitten by a zombie.

With the limited amount of time she has left before she turns, you’ll help Anling in her quest to teach her young son Cody survival skills and prepare him for when she’s no longer around.

In the press release, Vanimals touches upon the weight of the game’s story along with the importance of having something to help provide relief during difficult times.

“Undying is a pretty heavy game, emotionally,” explained Vanimals founder Kun Wang.

“But even in the darkest times we think there’s plenty of room for levity, and for the little things that help us keep our sanity. For Cody, during the course of Undying’s events, it’s his handheld gaming system. We can’t wait to have our fans help us make this bit of fun for Cody.”

To help Vanimals create this form of relief for Cody, fans are encouraged to tune in to the livestream on October 10 at 5 p.m. (PDT), 8p.m. (EDT), and 12 a.m. (UTC).

The mini-game that Vanimals will make with the help of livestream viewers will be made using Unity and will demonstrate how the development tools in Unity make creating a game in a short amount of time possible.

President of Skystone Games, David Brevik (Diablo, Marvel Heroes, It Lurks Below), will also jump in and help with the creation of Cody’s mini-game. It sounds like it’s going to be an insightful event, and a fantastic opportunity for Undying fans.

So, if you’re looking forward to Undying and want the opportunity to contribute to the game, or you’ve always wanted to create a mini-game but have never known where to begin, we highly recommend checking out the Vanimals livestream on October 10 as part of the Steam Autumn Festival!

We also recommend wishlisting Undying on Steam if you haven’t done so already. The game is expected to release in 2021 and will be available on PC, Nintendo Switch, Android, iOS, as well as Xbox and PlayStation platforms.
