Procedurally generated train track building chaos inbound!

Indoor Astronaut and Daedalic Entertainment’s Unrailed! has been kicking around in Early Access on Steam since August of last year, providing players with an intriguing multiplayer train track building experience set in an endless procedurally generated world. Sounds fun, right? Well, you’re in luck as the game will be leaving Early Access next month and it’s coming to consoles as well.

During the Nintendo Indie World showcase, the devs revealed a glimpse of a new trailer for Unrailed! to celebrate its departure from Early Access. Of course, what does this have to do with Nintendo? That’s right, we now have a launch date for the popular indie title on Nintendo Switch as well as other platforms. Before we get into more of those delicious details about what’s ahead, let’s take a look at the new trailer that shows folks how one goes about playing Unrailed!

In addition to Unrailed! leaving Early Access and coming to consoles next month, there will be a few goodies that arrived during Early Access that will be part of the experience for everyone. New wagons, a Sandbox mode that allows players to upgrade their train right out of the gate with unlocked features, new character models, and a single player mode for those who might not have anyone else to play with. Plus, if you need to take a break from the chaos that you and up to three friends cause, what could be better than bossing around three bots? Some folks might not see the difference in those two scenarios, and that’s okay.

“Unrailed! is a true test of your friendships: Work together in local or online multiplayer with up to four players to guide your train through dangerous terrain filled with obstacles and meddling local wildlife in order to reach the safety of the next station,” reads the official description. “Communication and cooperation are key to ensure you always have enough resources to build new tracks, stop your train from overheating, and can fend off animals pestering you.”

Unrailed! is currently available on Steam via Early Access, but will be leaving Early Access on September 23rd, which is when the game will also launch on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. In addition to this, a demo will be available on Nintendo Switch later today!
