In this article we will cover Chapter 3: The Malaysia Job in Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End. One of the biggest points of interest in this chapter is how to find both of the missing crates and then return them to the cargo. But first the chapter begins under water as you learn how to swim without the help of scuba gear. During this sequence, X ascends and Circle descends as you search the bottom of the ocean for the ship wreck.
You can’t move beyond the high rocks to either side, so continue forward as you move through a small tunnel with treasure just beyond. Continue ahead to find red metal and eventually you come to the wreckage you’ve been searching for. Take a closer look at the top of the wreckage, then head to the far side and open the doors.
Swim into the wreck and move toward the cargo. There are two crates missing and you need to locate both before you can continue. The first crate is located inside the shipping container that is located just before reaching the door. Unfortunately, you don’t have access to it at the moment, so let’s proceed to the second crate for now.
You’ll find the second crate on the ocean floor by leaving the shipping container and heading to the right. Collect the crate and place it alongside the other cargo in the wreck. It’s still not possible to access the first crate, so for now Jameson lowers a sling so you can lift the container off the crate. Take the sling and connect it to the axel, then do the same for the second line.
Move away and Jameson lifts the container out of the way so you can access the crate and move it over to the rest of the cargo. Now you can move to the top of the sling and head back up to the surface. You can explore the deck of the ship, then speak with Jameson on the far side for another cut scene and a few minor activities that complete the chapter.
At this point you can continue on to A Normal Life, or head back to our Uncharted 4 walkthrough and guide.
