Ubisoft’s Skull and Bones Won’t Be At E3 Following Delay

The open-world pirate adventure has been delayed as Ubisoft pulls the game from their E3 roster.

Ubisoft has confirmed in their recent earnings call that the open-world pirate adventure Skull and Bones has been delayed and because of that, it won’t make an appearance at this year’s E3 showcase.

“The release of Skull & Bones has been postponed to after 2019-20,” read the earning statement when talking about what the current release schedule would look like for 2019 and 2020. Additionally, Ubisoft added that they have a strong lineup ahead, including Ghost Recon Breakpoint and three AAA titles that have yet to be announced.

What’s interesting about this game’s delay is that news about it has been non-existent, yet there’s a television series adaptation currently in the works. It’s a bit of a chicken before the egg scenario, making the situation surrounding Skull and Bones a unique one, to say the least.

As for the game itself, we don’t know when we’ll be getting it now that the delay is publicly announced. While we wait for an official date, you can learn more about the latest open-world adventure below:

“It is the Golden Age of Piracy. A time when renegade captains command the most powerful weapons on Earth, warships. You are an insatiable, upstart pirate captain who refused the King’s pardon. Having nothing to lose, you sailed from the Caribbean to the Indian Ocean, an exotic and untamed frontier full of lavish riches.

“However, these rich and idyllic waters are also a battleground where far-reaching colonial empires, powerful trading corporations, and ruthless pirate gangs are fiercely competing for their share of these valuable treasures.”

Players will be able to choose their own pirate captain while becoming the fierce legend they were always meant to be. You can learn more about the upcoming IP with our previous coverage here.
