With Marvel’s The Avengers cleaning up at the box office right now (and for good reason – it rocks), we’re surprised that someone hasn’t released a game that ties in with it. But just because we didn’t get one during the summer doesn’t mean one isn’t coming. In fact, Ubisoft is hard at work on one.
The company officially confirmed today that Marvel Avengers: Battle For Earth is in the works over at Ubisoft Quebec, with players being able to take control of heroic characters using motion controls. The game will be released for Wii U and Xbox 360 Kinect and will include a storyline that mixes in with events from the “Secret Invasion” series of comic books, rather than the movie. This means going up against Skrull warriors who are posing as Earth superheroes – so watch your six.
More details about the game are likely to be revealed next month at E3, as Ubisoft is bound to make it part of its presentation, to build hype for the film’s upcoming fall video release. Stay tuned for an official preview!
