Wanted more Prince of Persia? How about a Prince of Persia escape room? Eh? EH?! That’s what we’re getting because Ubisoft just revealed their latest project: Prince of Persia: The Dagger of Time.
Escape rooms are nothing new but in recent years, many of these experiences have been taken to the next level with the help of VR, virtual reality. Prince of Persia: The Dagger of Time is a co-op experience that is based on the original Jordan Mechner PoP game that made its debut back in 1989. So how does The Dagger of Time differ from other escape rooms exactly?
Instead of the usual “trapped, need to get out” scenario, Ubisoft is taking the tried and true formula and making it even better with some of that ‘ol razzle dazzle and way more complicated puzzles. It’s also an experience many can enjoy, because Ubisoft is rolling out this Prince of Persia VR experience in over 300 locations starting this Spring.
For those interested, it will be set in during the setting of Sands of Time, a game that first came out in 2003 and even inspired the movie adaptation starring Jake Gyllenhall back in 2011. Players will be able to choose between 2-4 player co-op experiences after being summoned by the Empress of Time herself: Kaileena. It’s up to the player to help restore the sands of time while they figure out how to escape the Fortress of Time.
Prince of Persia: The Dagger of Time will be a global experience and we’ll be learning more about what it will have to offer here in the coming months.
