The news hit Wii U owners hard this month when it was announced that the completed sequel Rayman Legends would not be releasing for the system on February 26th, as the company has saw fit to delay it to September to release it alongside other platforms. But that doesn’t mean Nintendo system owners will be left completely in the dark, thankfully.
Ubisoft has announced that it will be releasing a special online challenge mode, which was originally intended to be included with the retail release of the game, for free download for all Wii U owners. The download will be made available in the Wii U eShop this April, allowing players to compete against one another through interactive leaderboards.
It’s a reward for those who have voiced their displeasure with the game’s delay (including the development team), but we’re not sure if it’s enough to heal all wounds. Regardless, we’ll give it a try and deliver our full impressions soon.
Rayman Legends will release this September for Wii U, along with Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
