Bioshock Infinite has seen its fair share of ups and downs over its development span, but losing vital members of its development team may be the toughest thing it faces.

Director of product development Tim Gerritsen was the first of the two major players to depart the team.  Gerritsen recently changed his Linkedin profile to show that he departed from the company, stating in his Twitter bio “New Job…details to follow”.  He’s been with the studio since 2008, previously serving as chairman and business director for Prey 2 developer Human Head Studios.

Also leaving the company is a longer veteran, art director Nate Wells.  He’s been with Irrational Games for 13 years now, and did not state where he was going next.

Ken Levine, creative director at Irrational Games, has stated that Scott Sinclair, the art director behind the original Bioshock, will be taking over for Wells.  “Scott Sinclair, art director of Bio1, back in the art director’s chair for Infinite to bring it home,” stated Levine in his Twitter account.  “Can’t wait to show you what’s cooking.”

Look for Bioshock Infinite on February 26, 2013 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.
