Hi-Rez top man Todd Harris attributes the successes to player recommendations, in fact the friend recommendation system has tracked more than 110,00 people alone.

“We see the community expanding primarily through positive word of mouth,” he said. “Since release we’ve already recognized seven players who have each individually referred over 500 new people to Tribes: Ascend.

“The game’s success allows us to give back to the community through free DLC updates, tournament events and expansion into new markets in coming months.”

In other Hi-Rez news, the team has also announced a 31st May release date for the beta of their forthcoming MOBA title Smite. If you’d like to sign up for the beta then make your way over to the official Smite site. Pre-ordering guarantees access.
