Timesplitters Rewind Heads to Steam Greenlight

Expect a pre-alpha test later this year.

While it isn’t exactly the Timesplitters 4 sequel we’ve been waiting for, we’ll certainly take it.

Timesplitters Rewind is currently in the works over at Pantheonyx, with the blessing from the series’ original developer, Crytek. The game is a multiplayer-oriented game in the works for both PlayStation 4 and Steam, built from the ground up – since the developer can’t use the original source code. Fans can expect to see a number of familiar maps and characters from the previous three games in the series.

The project recently hit Steam Greenlight to generate interest from fans. The developer also stated that it intends to have a public pre-alpha test ready to go by December, with a few maps and characters available for play.

We’ll have a first look at Timesplitters Rewind in the months ahead. The final release is expected sometime in 2014.
