Last week, Rebel Wolves announced the performance targets for The Blood of Dawnwalker, with 60 FPS notably absent, even on PS5 Pro. After overwhelming player feedback, the studio addressed the missing performance mode and confirmed that a 60 FPS mode will be available at launch.

60 FPS Mode Confirmed for The Blood of Dawnwalker at Launch

Today, Bandai Namco Entertainment and Rebel Wolves confirmed that The Blood of Dawnwalker will receive a Performance Mode targeting 60 FPS on PS5, PS5 Pro, and Xbox Series S|X on day one.

According to the team, Performance Mode was already in the works, but they needed to conduct further testing before confirming it. After player feedback, the developers accelerated their efforts and now have the mode ready for launch.

PS5 Pro also includes “overall visual enhancements”. For Xbox Series S, the developers said the game targets 30 FPS rather than specifying a dedicated mode.

I hope this 60 FPS target doesn’t mean the internal resolution is aggressively low, because the game will undoubtedly use upscaling to achieve it. Either way, a 60 FPS performance mode is pretty much the norm for current-generation consoles, and while the visual tradeoff is always there, it’s nice to see its inclusion in The Blood of Dawnwalker. I just hope that it’s actually stable too.
