It’s a blast from the past for NES fans this week, as the publisher has opted to re-release two of its StarTropics classics for download on the Wii U.

In the original 1990 release StarTropics, players follow in the footsteps of Mike Jones as he seeks out a kidnapped member of his family, coming across a strange extraterrestrial tale in the process. Featuring classic top-down visuals akin to The Legend of Zelda, but with its own original gameplay, StarTropics is an adventure worth revisiting again.

For good measure, there’s also its follow-up, Zoda’s Revenge: StarTropics II, which came out in 1994. Jones once again returns, this time exploring deeper into the strange alien activity surrounding his island home. Like the first game, it’s known for its clever gameplay and memorable visuals.

Both StarTropics are now available for download on the Wii U for the budgetable price of $4.99 each. For those of you who can’t get enough old-school adventure, we highly suggest checking them both out.
