With the offiical reveal of Respawn’s Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order coming later this weekend, fans of the iconic space franchise are excited to learn more about what’s on the horizon. With excitement comes leaks, rumors, and overall speculation, and the latest addition to the hype train paints a very enjoyable picture for those that enjoy a solid FromSoftware experience.
According to a recent Reddit post, an alleged dev leaked a few details about what Fallen Order could potentially offer fans. According to the OP, the dev posted it on a forum and asked that the information stayed there, but then the Redditor said that the dev deleted their account so they decided to go full steam ahead.
In addition to the recent leak mentioning that the upcoming game would indeed be canon, they also added “Gameplay will be compared to Dark Souls, being good at parry like in Sekiro will help, you will feel like a Jedi.” Given the heavy focus on lightsabers in this particular franchise, the Sekiro comparison isn’t a far stretch. A sword and a saber have similar mechanics, so to liken it to the latest big-hit-game isn’t a huge gamble to make.
The leak also mentioned that there would be a pre-made male protagonist, so earlier rumors of character customization seems to be out the window if this particular leak proofs true.
As with all rumors, take the above information with a grain of salt. We’ll be getting our first official look at the new game on Saturday at 1:30 CDT during the Chicago Star Wars Celebration, so we’ll be able to get some confirmation then as to what we can expect from Respawn’s latest endeavour.
We’ll also be covering the event live on-site this year! For those that can’t join us in person in the land of deep dish pizza, you can at least watch the world premiere right here.
