Square Enix sent out a press release today full of new details on this summer’s update to Final Fantasy VII Remake, called Intergrade. The information is all about the new content “episode” starring Yuffie, including its official title: Final Fantasy VII Remake EPISODE INTERmission.
We also got gameplay details specifically on Yuffie’s fighting style, and the English voice cast of all the new characters.

It seems like seven new characters will be introduced during EPISODE INTERmission, and that includes Yuffie and Sonon, who was revealed initially. The cast and their respective voice actors are as follows:
- Yuffie Kisaragi, voiced by Suzie Yeung
- Sonon Kusakabe, voiced by Aleks Le
- Weiss, voiced by Daman Mills
- Zhijie, voiced by Griffin Puatu
- Nayo, voiced by Ashley Boettcher
- Billy Bob, voiced by David Goldstein
- Polk, voiced by Daniel Amerman
Yuffie’s combat style includes multiple bespoke abilities, most of which can be bolstered with elemental properties. Her “Unique Ability” is throwing her giant shuriken, and another ability (Banishment) does damage based on ATB use.
Her third ability is Windstorm, which appears to pull enemies towards her, damaging them and putting them in a launch state.
As far as the story is concerned, the main premise sees Yuffie and Sonon breaking into Shinra to steal Materia. This mission will lead them to “Deepground,” a “top-secret underground research center” that Weiss is in charge of.
Weiss, of course, is a character previously introduced in Dirge of Cerberus, so we’re definitely getting twists on Compilation of Final Fantasy VII in this new story.
