One of the modes we cherished in the Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell games over the years was Spies vs. Mercs, an innovative mode where soldiers took on stealth agents in an all-out battle to the death. It was a unique twist on conventional multiplayer and quite addictive in its own right. It’s been quite a while since we’ve seen it in action since it was a no-show in Splinter Cell: Conviction.
Ubisoft is making amends and has announced that Spies vs. Mercs will be making a return this fall with Splinter Cell: Blacklist. The company released a new trailer showing off the new mode in action, where mercenaries once again take on spies in a battle to the death. Up to eight players can join in the action at once, which is a pretty great count when you want to get your friends involved.
Check out the footage here and get ready for Splinter Cell: Blacklist when it does some damage on August 20th.
