With the Midsummer Classic set to kick off tonight in Kansas City, we’re interested to see how the West and East collide in an all-out battle of baseball’s greatest tonight. But that didn’t stop Sony from running a simulation to see how things would turn out in its PlayStation 3/Vita game MLB 12: The Show.
The company recently stated that the National League All-Stars would bring down the American League All-Stars by a score of 3-2 in a recent sim of the game. Don’t forget that the winner in the contest earns bragging rights to home-field advantage in the World Series, so it does count for something.
This isn’t the first time that a major company has run a sim of a popular event in sports, as EA Sports ran the Super Bowl with its Madden NFL 12 game, correctly predicting that the New York Giants would trounce the New England Patriots. Yes, again. So who knows, Sony just might be onto something.
We suggest checking out The Show if you haven’t already. It’s easily the best baseball game money can buy these days…
