Looking like the series won’t see any more sequels

Resistance: Fall of Man came out six years ago on the PlayStation 3 and it wasn’t half bad, shame though as seems there won’t be any future titles in the works after an announcement from Sony explained there are “no definitive plans” for any more titles.

“The Resistance franchise has been exciting to work on but as for the future we have no definitive plans,” Sony Computer Entertainment Europe Online producer Daniel Brooke exaplained to OPM.

Resistance has seen five games in total, three on the PS3, one on PSP and another on the Vita.

This perhaps isn’t necessarily the final nail in the coffin, but if anything does happen it won’t come from Insomniac. Ted Price, the company’s top man, has said Resistance 3 was the company’s last attempt to create a Resistance title. He explained that the company felt the game had “reached its logical conclusion in terms of the story that we wanted to tell”.
