Skarsgards continue their takeover as Kojima annouces he added one to the Physint voice cast
Looks like the heat is on.
You can’t throw a brick these days without hitting at least two Skarsgards, so it’s not a huge surprise to see one showing up front and center among the cast members for Hideo Kojima’s Physint.
Hot on the heels of announcing the move from Sony to Microsoft for publisher duties, Hideo Kojima is getting some PR rolling by revealing that Bill Skarsgård will be playing the lead role in Physint, a game that has been described as something of a spiritual successor to the famed Metal Gear series.
“I’m delighted to confirm the lead role for PHYSINT will be Bill Skarsgård,” said Hideo Kojima from the XBOX Tokyo Game Show. “We are both long-time fans of each other’s work, and we’ve decided to embark on this new adventure together. The costume fittings, scans, and camera tests we conducted with Bill and Charlee earlier this year gave me tremendous confidence in the direction of the project.”
Skarsgård is a Swedish actor and producer and one of the famed Skarsgård family, headed by Stellan Skarsgård. Bill is an interesting on-screen talent, known for roles that demand physical challenge and a lot of screen presence, from Robert Eggers’ Nosferatu and Zach Cregger’s Barbarian to a turn as the iconic horror clown Pennywise in two It films.
Kojima has a long history of working with well-known actors and Hollywood notables like Norman Reedus in his Death Stranding series, Mads Mikkelsen, Kiefer Sutherland, and even got director Guillermo del Toro to star in one of his games.
Physint is the third original IP from Kojima Productions, the company that Kojima set up after his split from Konami. The game has been described by Hideo Kojima as the culmination of his 40-year career as a video game creator, so you can likely expect things to get pretty rowdy.
