The nasty lawsuit between Silicon Knights and Epic Games has come to a close, and now the developer of Too Human is paying the price.
The company, which originally filed a lawsuit against Epic for breach of agreement back in 2007, has been ordered to double its payment to Mark Rein’s team, going up from $4.5 million to over $9 million.
If that’s not painful enough, Silicon Knights has also been ordered to remove the “Licensed Technology” from its games that utilize Unreal Engine technology, and have been ordered to recall and destroy all unsold copies of Too Human and X-Men Destiny, games it released over the last few years.
“Epic Games appreciates the court’s careful consideration of the motion and is gratified by the order,” stated an Epic Games rep.
If you’ve got X-Men Destiny and Too Human lying around, you might want to hold onto them. They’re likely to become rarities.
