Crossovers in Brawlhalla have always been unpredictable, but few fans probably had “Shrek” on their bingo card. Ubisoft has officially teamed up with Universal Products & Experiences to bring DreamWorks Animation’s iconic fairy tale cast to the free-to-play platform fighter, adding Shrek, Princess Fiona, Puss in Boots, and even Donkey to the roster for a limited-time event.

The crossover introduces three playable characters inspired by the beloved films, each arriving with their own rarity and personality.

Shrek headlines the collaboration as a Mythic Crossover, bringing his trademark ogre strength into battle. Princess Fiona also joins as a Mythic Crossover, wearing her signature green dress while showing off her fierce fighting skills. Meanwhile, Puss in Boots arrives as an Epic Crossover, relying on his expert swordsmanship, agility, and undeniable charm to outplay opponents.

Donkey doesn’t enter the arena as a playable fighter, but he’ll still have a big presence throughout matches. He joins the event as a Companion, reacting to everything happening during battles with his trademark enthusiasm.

New Maps and Cosmetics Inspired by Far Far Away

The collaboration also introduces two themed battlegrounds based on Shrek’s famous home.

Shrek’s Swamp is designed as a Competitive Map, while Shrek’s Muddy Swamp offers a Casual experience featuring an all-new mud hazard created specifically for the crossover event. Both stages recreate the iconic swamp setting from the films.

Players can also pick up several cosmetics inspired by the franchise, including a KO Effect featuring Mongo, the giant gingerbread man, along with Emoji Skins based on Lord Farquaad, Dragon, and Pinocchio.

Brawlhalla has built a reputation for unexpected crossover events over the years, bringing together characters from movies, television, comics, and gaming. Even so, seeing one of animation’s most recognizable ogres trading blows in the arena is easily one of the game’s most surprising collaborations to date—and perhaps one of its most fitting.
