To be fair, this already leaked. But hey, it’s official. Shin Megami Tensei V, which has been on the Nintendo Switch to-do list since the platform was revealed, finally has a release date. The latest in Atlus’ long-running post-apocalyptic JRPG series is set to arrive on November 12, 2021.
Shin Megami Tensei V Fully Revealed, Release Date Confirmed
Alongside the leaked release date, we also got a ton of new footage during the E3 2021 Nintendo Direct. This is the first major reveal for Shin Megami Tensei V, giving us a detailed look at the game’s world and perhaps most importantly, the battle system.
The game’s story is set in an alternate dimension, in which the protagonist finds themselves. Not long into the story they fuse with a mysterious entity, gaining a whole new look and the ability to summon demons for protection. Shin Megami Tensei stuff happens from there.
In the footage we see the main characters transformation, several 3D demon models, the combat UI, and features such as moon phases, Press Turn and of course demon negotiation.
While we haven’t seen any confirmation of a special edition like the one revealed for Japan, we do know that retail preorders will open up this coming June 21.
