Sephiroth Can Be Shirtless in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

Shirtless Shulk and Shirtless Sephiroth can battle it out.

On the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate website, new screenshots of Sephiroth were added. While many of them are cool, and relatively straightforward, there was one that caught our eye a bit more than the rest. Apparently, Sephiroth can be shirtless in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as an alternate costume.

Or at least, that’s what it looks like based on the shared image and our knowledge of the existence of shirtless Shulk. Why not make a shirtless option for Sephiroth, you know?

Sephiroth Can Be Shirtless in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

The reveal of Sephiroth as the newest fighter in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate during The Game Awards 2020 was certainly a sight to behold. Few anticipated that Sephiroth would be the newest fighter, although it isn’t too far out there in comparison to other recently added characters, like Minecraft Steve.

Cloud is already in the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate roster of playable characters as well, so if you get Sephiroth as DLC, you can have a nice battle between Cloud and Sephiroth like what was shown in the reveal trailer. Or, you can take things a step further and make shirtless Shulk face off against shirtless Sephiroth.

Yes, apparently a shirtless option (alternate costume) for Sephiroth will be available based on new images added to his fighter page on the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate website. The shirtless Sephiroth image is official, not a fan image. It is real.

Because Sephiroth is a DLC fighter, you’ll need to either purchase the Fighters Pass Vol. 2 for $29.99 (USD) which includes 6 fighters, 3 of which have been revealed (Min Min, Minecraft Steve, Sephiroth) and 3 that will be revealed in the future.

You can purchase Minecraft Steve as a standalone for $5.99 and Min Min as a standalone for $5.99, so once Sephiroth is officially released on December 18, the option to purchase him as a standalone should become available as well.

We’ll also be able to report back with some more images of shirtless Sephiroth after he’s made available on December 18. You know, for posterity.

For more on Sephiroth in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, be sure to check out his official page on the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate website, and stay tuned for a presentation with Masahiro Sakurai on December 17 at 2 p.m. (PT) to see even more Sephiroth in Smash.
