The Nintendo 3DS is slowly but surely building up a line of dependable games, including various classics from the NES days. (Some of them are even in 3D, like Kirby’s Adventure and Kid Icarus – we do love our Kid Icarus.) But now a new announcement could be paving the way for a number of new arcade 3D classics coming to the system.
According to the Gamer website, Sega is hard at work on a version of its 80’s arcade shooter Space Harrier for the 3DS, one that uses the 3D technology to have your enemies popping right out at you. The game will support the system’s widescreen format, though it’s unknown what other features it’ll include, such as touch-screen support.
Sega hasn’t confirmed the project yet, but considering how much they love their classic library, it wouldn’t surprise us if it were coming. And can you imagine some of their best arcade efforts in a 3D conversion? What we wouldn’t give to go cruising in Outrun or flying around in After Burner in full 3D…
We’ll let you know once it’s fully announced.
