Sega Reveals Lost Judgment, Launching Globally in September

Solving murder mysteries, dancing with high schoolers and hitting half-pipes - yep, it's Ryu Ga Gotoku

After teasing this afternoon’s Judgment Day event (and an unfortunate PlayStation Store leak), Sega officially announced the latest from Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio. Lost Judgment, a sequel to, well, Judgment, will be hitting Xbox and PlayStation consoles with a planned global launch date of September 24, 2021.

In Lost Judgment players will once again play the role of Takayuki Yamagi, a former lawyer who now works as a private detective. This time around, a murder revealed during a deceptively small trial sets off a chain of events that had been building for years.

To solve the case, Yagami will move between both Kamurocho and Yokohama, and even end up going undercover at a high school. Yagami’s time at the school involves a new suite of side quests called “school stories,” where much of the Yakuza team’s silliness will come out in full force.

In addition to the first game’s Crane and Tiger fighting styles, a third one called Snake will be available. While Crane and Tiger are for group and targeted combat respectively, Snake appears to be a more defensive stance that utilizes counterattacks.

You can check out those details and more by checking out the archived Judgment Day stream, in which Toshihiro Nagoshi and Kazuki Hosokawa answer questions from the international press about Lost Judgment.

If you haven’t played Judgment yet, you can catch up with the recently-released new-gen console version, which is also available on platforms like Steam and Stadia.
