Rumor: Screenshot Evidence of a New Prince of Persia?

Is one of our favorite princes headed for a reboot?

Is Prince of Persia headed for another reboot?  And by that we mean, the last one since 2008?

Ubisoft is keeping mum on its plans for the Prince, following the release of his 2010 game The Forgotten Sands, which came out at the same time as Disney’s somewhat average Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time film.  However, a screenshot has since emerged, featuring a strangely dressed character, rumored to be the “new” prince, standing before a crowd of slaves and peasants.  If you look closely, you can see he’s carrying an interesting weapon in his back pocket, one that would be useful for slaying enemies.

Again, Ubisoft hasn’t said anything, but you never know.  The 2008 release, as great as it was, didn’t quite do any favors financially, so the company may be looking to push in a new direction.  Stay tuned…
