Rock Band Games Shutting Down the Party On iOS At Month’s End

Every good rock tour can only last so long before someone hits the lights, right?

Electronic Arts has announced that it will be discontinuing the sale of its Rock Band iOS games and their supportive downloadable content starting on July 31. That gives you just a week’s time to snag up all the songs that you want for your library before they disappear for good.

Though specifics weren’t quite dug into, it looks like the main reason EA is removing the games is because their partnership has come to a close with its developer, Harmonix. It doesn’t look like there are any current plans to renew, so that pretty much seals the fate of the Rock Band games on iOS. That and discontinued music rights could also have something to do with it.

If you purchased the games previously (and any of its DLC) and backed it up through iCloud and back-up saves on a computer, you’ll still be able to access the game and party it up if you choose to. But as far as official releases go, well, we’ve reached the end of the road. But what a ride it’s been, eh?
