As reported by outlets like IGN and Dextero, Titanfall community coordinator Jason Garza recently shared information during a livestream noting that Respawn has no immediate plans for the development of Titanfall 3.
The reason for this, as explained by Garza, is simply because they have, “Too many other games in the works right now.”
Respawn Has No Immediate Plans For Titanfall 3
Respawn Entertainment has a lot on their plate right now as indicated by statements made by Titanfall community coordinator Jason Garza on a recent livestream. Because of the sheer volume of projects Respawn is working on, the company has no immediate plans for Titanfall 3.
“There’s nothing new there,” Garza explained. “We’ve got too many other games in the works right now.”
Now, that’s not to say Respawn will never revisit its Titanfall series and develop a third installment, but rather fans shouldn’t expect any big Titanfall 3 news for a good while. This news is similar to what was reported back in 2019 where Respawn had stated that, “In order to fully support Apex Legends, we are pushing out plans for future Titanfall games.”
No resources were being shifted to Titanfall development by Respawn at that time, and it sounds like two years later, this is still the case. In regards to other Titanfall titles like Titanfall 2, Garza confirmed that Respawn is continuing to investigate hacking vulnerabilities first reported earlier this month.
On September 8, the official Respawn account tweeted:
“We are aware of reports of a security vulnerability affecting Titanfall 2 and are investigating. We have no other information to share at the moment but will update once we do.”
A few days later on September 10, Respawn followed that tweet with the following update:
“Our team has shipped an update to address the game-crashing exploit. We found no evidence of any more serious vulnerabilities. We’ll keep an eye out for further issues but consider this one to be closed.”
In addition to fixes for Titanfall 2, Respawn are also working to address and correct bugs and issues with their hit multiplayer game Apex Legends. Just today, Respawn reported they’d shipped “a client-side patch” for Apex Legends that fixes a number of bugs, including those that cause crashes and disconnects.
With Respawn so busy maintaining previous games and developing new ones, it’s no surprise that Titanfall 3 isn’t coming anytime soon. After hearing this, we’re curious to hear your thoughts on the matter. Do you think Titanfall 3 is a project that Respawn should work on?
