PSA: You Can Get an Overpowered Spacesuit Early in Starfield

Looks like this one slipped through the cracks.

So, you’re looking to get your hands on one of the better suits in the game for free, are you? Well, look no further, as it looks like you can eke your way through the cracks and get the Mark I Spacesuit with little to no overall effort. Hidden behind the glass in the basement, the Mark I Spacesuit offers overall excellent stats and normally requires hands of steel and a Mastery in Picklocking to get for your own. Be a shame if you could just… find a little gap between the door and snag it with little effort.

If you’re hoping to get this suit early on, you can make your way into the Lodge and head downstairs. Once you have gotten into the basement, you’ll just want to follow the path laid out in the video above and head into the back room that houses a few paintings alongside the Mark I Spacesuit. If you carefully maneuver around the glass, titling the control stick ever so slightly, you’ll eventually get the prompt that says Mannequin rather than Glass (Master). Click on the action button, and you can snag this suit for your own.

Now that you have it, head into the menu and slap that bad boy on. You’ll find that this suit features some great stats, as well:

Suit Part NamePhys ResistanceEnergy ResistanceEM ResistanceMass
MARK I Spacesuit1201361287.50
MARK I Space Helmet6664682.30
MARK I Pack66641687.10

Did Bethesda mean for this to happen? I highly doubt it, since the suit is pretty well decked out and looks fantastic. Does this mean I feel bad about it? Not at all. If you’ve got a few minutes to spare and want to get overpowered before you even start your adventure in the fullest, be sure to give this a try. It’s a little finicky, but with even perseverance, you’ll have it in no time. It’s not a true Bethesda adventure without a few little mistakes along the way.
