Sony is releasing an update for the PS Vita today to the tune of 1.80 today, which will bring with it the chance to grab some PSone Classics and upgrade its functionality.
The update adds a whole host of new features, some of which are quite minor changes to controls that will make navigating the system and browsing the web a little easier. The rear touch pad can now be used for scrolling, a really logical idea with some smooth results. There’s improved connectability between your Vita and iTunes some additions to the video and music apps. For a full rundown check out the video below.
While there’s only a small selection of PSone Classics coming to the North American store when compared to the hefty selection the Europeans are getting, there are plans to release more games in installments as time goes by. Sadly there’s no word on how often these installments are planned to be delivered.
The full list of PSone Classics is as follows:
- Arc the Lad
- Cool Boarders 2
- FINAL FANTASY VII
- Hot Shots Golf 2
- Jet Moto
- Syphon Filter
- Tomb Raider
- Twisted Metal 2
- Wild Arms
As part of Sony’s wonderful crossplay strategy, you’ll be able to play these games if you’ve already purchased them from the PS Store on another system.
