Namco Bandai’s Project X Zone is obscure enough that the publisher chose to release a limited edition to entice both the curious and hardcore.  That said, $39.99 gets you more than just a copy of this bizarre yet satisfying mash-up.  You’ll also find collectible items for your viewing and listening pleasure.  What sorts of goodies are inside the box? Come, let us show you them.

We’re suckers for special packaging, even if it looks exactly like the normal plastic case. Speaking of the case, here it is.  Nothing different from normal 3DS packaging.  We love the artwork, though.

No big surprise inside the box.  There’s the game of course, along with a Club Nintendo code.  Sadly, there’s no manual, just two inserts with warnings in two different languages.

Good thing we appreciate it so much, because the limited edition comes with a poster featuring a whole mess of Capcom, Namco Bandai and Sega characters.  Brawlers from Virtua Fighter make sense, but Ulala from Space Channel 5?  We like how the developers think.

If you dig the music, here’s the official soundtrack.

Finally, we have an art book featuring different characters in the game, broken into Namco Bandai, Capcom and Sega categories.

Not sure where so-and-so is from?  It’s cool. Namco Bandai lists the respective games as well. Keep in mind this doesn’t include support characters like Arthur from the Ghosts’n Goblins franchise.

Project X Zone is available for 3DS.
