Pragmata Has Sold Over 2.5 Million Copies, CAPCOM Confirms
Great numbers!
While Capcom has been enjoying the success of new entries in its existing franchises, it hasn’t shied away from launching original new titles either. This year, after multiple delays, the publisher finally released Pragmata, an excellent sci-fi shooter with a unique puzzle-solving twist. Capcom has now confirmed that the game has sold over 2.5 million units worldwide.
Pragmata Has Sold Over 2.5 Million Units Worldwide
Capcom has revealed in its Q1 FY2026 consolidated financial results that Pragmata has sold over 2.5 million units worldwide. The game launched on April 17, 2026, meaning it reached the milestone in about two and a half months, based on Capcom’s financial results for the period ended June 30, 2026.

Capcom described the game’s performance as “favorable,” which is an encouraging sign for a new IP and exactly the kind of language you want to see from a publisher in its financial report. They also attributed its success to building a dedicated fanbase through “robust promotional activities and other measures.” With such a strong start, it’ll be interesting to see whether they expand the IP with DLC or a sequel.

Pragmata was originally announced in 2020 before being delayed multiple times over the following years. After several schedule changes, the game finally launched on April 17, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2. CAPCOM also didn’t price Pragmata at $70; instead, it opted for a $60 base price, with a more expensive deluxe edition available. The Switch 2 release also delivered a solid experience and didn’t suffer from any major technical issues either.
The quarterly report also included several updates on Capcom’s other franchises. Resident Evil Requiem has surpassed 8 million units sold cumulatively, while both Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 2 continued to contribute to ongoing sales growth.

Meanwhile, Devil May Cry 5 has now surpassed 14 million units sold. Overall, Capcom reported that catalog title sales reached 21.26 million units during the quarter, up from 13.36 million units a year earlier. The Digital Contents segment generated net sales of 54.648 billion yen, an 83% year-over-year increase.
