PlayStation’s Play At Home Returns With Free In-Game Content

Free content for Warzone, Rocket League, Destruction AllStars, and more!

On the PS Blog, a new batch of free content was announced as part of PlayStation’s Play At Home initiative. Instead of offering free games like Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition (which you have until May 14 to download), players can get free in-game content for online games like Call of Duty: Warzone.

Wondering what sort of content you can look forward to and for what games? Let’s take a closer look!

PlayStation’s Play At Home Returns With Free In-Game Content

Play At Home continues during the month of May, but instead of games, the next batch of free content centers around in-game items for titles like Brawlhalla and Rocket League. Several games are participating in giving free content away as part of Play At Home.

Before the post on the PS Blog runs through the games that’ll give free content away, a reminder is provided that your last chance to download Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition ends May 14 (May 15 for BST and CEST).

Starting May 17, you’ll be able to download free in-game content and virtual currency from a variety of online games. This offer will run from May 17 at 8:00 p.m. (PDT) until June 6 at 11:59 p.m. (PDT).

Below, we’ve listed all of the games that’ll offer free content starting May 17, and what sort of free content is being offered.

  • Rocket League: PlayStation Plus Pack – includes four unique customization items including Blue Notch Wheels, Blue Smoke Boost, Blue Rocks Trail, and the Trimpact BL Player Banner.

  • Brawlhalla: Brawlhalla: Play at Home Pack – includes the Rayman Legend Unlock, Sir Rayelot Skin with Axe and Gauntlet Weapon Skins, Shrug Emote and Grimm Sidekick.

  • Destruction AllStars: 1,100 Destruction Points.

  • MLB The Show 21: MLB The Show 21 10 The Show Packs.

  • NBA 2K21: The Play at Home Pack – includes MyTEAM Series 2 Amethyst Damian Lillard, 5,000 MyTEAM Points and more.

  • Warframe: Warframe: Starter Bundle – includes 100 Platinum, 100,000 Credits, 7 Day Affinity Booster, Essential Base Damage Mod Bundle and more.

Available a few days after all of that free content becomes available, Call of Duty: Warzone will offer its own free batch of in-game content. Starting May 20 and remaining available until June 6, Warzone players can look forward to things like five 60-minute Double XP tokens.

According to the PS Blog post, the Double XP tokens can be “accessed exclusively in-game through the Message of The Day” starting on May 20 at 10:00 a.m. (PDT).

  • Call of Duty: Warzone: 5 Double XP Tokens  [Available from May 20 at 10am PDT, 18:00 BST, May 21 02:00 JST]

The blog post concludes by noting that this will be the final Play At Home content drop. Limitations for some of these offers apply, for example some offers won’t be available in certain countries.

Virtual currency for these games may require access to the full game whether that means downloading the game for free, or buying the game and downloading it. Head over to the PS Blog post for the full rundown of information regarding the free in-game content and what’s available to you depending on your location.

After learning about the latest Play At Home drop and how it consists of free in-game content rather than free games to download, we’re curious what your thoughts are.
