The PlayStation 4 has officially surpassed the lifetime sales of the original Playstation, and it comes second as the most popular home console only to the PlayStation 2. Sony has really gone a long way when it comes to what it offers to consumers. Now, it has just been confirmed as part of the PlayStation 5 announcement that the latest iteration of Sony’s flagship console will feature the following:

  • 3D audio sound
  • Haptics and adaptive triggers in the controllers
  • Ultra-high speed SSD
  • Hardware-based ray tracing
  • Ultra HD blu-ray

While there’s no exact date on the release, Ryan noted that more information would be coming out in the next few months about the PlayStation 5 in the wake of what they mentioned today. With all of us here pretty pumped for upcoming console exclusives like the Final Fantasy VII remake and more, we’re definitely keen to find out what else the latest PlayStation can do. Now that the PlayStation 5 has been announced by Sony at CES 2020, we’re expecting a deluge of information to build hype in consumers for the console’s release in the lead-up to launch dates of some of this year’s biggest AAA titles.
