PAX East is shaping up to be a big event this year with more developer turnout for 2020 than even E3! With several big announcements already confirmed from the showcase, it looks like PlatiumGames is more than ready to add their names to that list because they are teasing a big reveal for February 27th.
The studio teased their upcoming reveal in a recent issue of Famitsu magazine, though what the announcement will be about is still very much a mystery. That being said, the studio has already confirmed that they’ve got four projects in the works, which is exciting considering how one of those games Platinum has said is something that “has never been done before.” Bold words, words that we want to learn more of!
While many are assuming the announcement could be NieR: Automata related, which would make sense following the recent manga spawn, I’m personally hoping for a new IP reveal. They’ve got me curious after “what’s never been done before” and following Hideo Kojima’s Death Stranding, I now have more faith in claims like that. What it could be about nobody knows but it would be amazing to see what the team over at Platinum has been working so hard towards.
According to Famitsu (via Gematsu), the reveal will happen within the newest issue of the magazine and it’s there that we’ll know more about what this team is teasing.
