Friday, November 1st, saw the opening ceremony for Blizzcon 2019 take place. There were plenty of exciting reveals that took place during the Blizzcon 2019 opening ceremony. One of these reveals was the official announcement for Overwatch 2. Yes, that is right. The high-profile esports title from Blizzard Entertainment is getting a sequel that will be expanding the first-person shooter’s world even large. Fortunately, all of the cosmetics and accomplishments players from the original game have earned will be coming with them to Overwatch 2.

It was revealed during the Overwatch 2 announcement that players will see all of their skins, sprays, icons, emotes, and other cosmetic items will be carried forward into the second entry in the franchise in addition to all of their hard-earned accomplishments.

This cross-game progression will also work in the other direction. All of the new PVP content that will be able in Overwatch 2 will also be available for those individuals who do not purchase the new game. This means that players who stick with the first game will still be able to play all of the new heroes and maps coming in Overwatch 2 without having to buy the sequel. Players from both games will also be able to play with each other in an effort by Blizzard Entertainment to not split up the game’s PVP community.

However, only Overwatch 2 players will have access to the new array of player versus environment content coming to the franchise that includes story and hero missions.

There is no doubt that a large portion of the game’s community will move on to Overwatch 2 when it releases. Fortunately, in a mission to make sure “no one gets left behind,” the player bases for both of the series’ games will see their PVP content merged to make sure that everyone can continue their adventures together without any trouble.
