Overhaul Games president, Trent Oster announced on Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition forum that the official launch date for the game has been pushed back from the 18th September to the 30th November due to the overwhelming feedback and final tweaks to improve the gameplay.
Oster stated on the forum “Thousands of you posted suggestions and requests on our forums. Dozens of volunteers from all over the world helped us improve gameplay, squash bugs, and generally fine-tune the game. Even more came to help work on translations from English to more than 16 other languages.”
The additional time will allow for enhancements on the plethora of new characters, areas and storylines adding much more gametime.
Oster then took to Twitter explain that there were “too many open bugs for launch”, and dismissed the notion that the delay was in any way related to a ‘marketing master plan’.
Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition will be available for PC, Mac ($19.99 or $17.99 for pre-order), iPad and Android ($9.99).
