Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath is, I believe, one of Oddworld Inhabitants’ greatest triumphs, a thrilling action game with a story that’s deeper than you might expect, along with some creative weaponry. The game was poorly marketed when it originally came out on the Xbox, but the developers at Just Add Water gave it a second chance at life when they re-released it for PlayStation 3/Network late last year. And they aren’t done yet.
Even though the team is currently working on Oddworld: Abe’s Odyssey New N’ Tasty (which, by the way, we just previewed here) they did get a chance to tell the folks at Eurogamer that their PlayStation Vita port of Stranger’s Wrath is just about done, pinpointing a mid-November release date. Though a price point wasn’t given, it’s expected to be around $14.99, the same as the PSN version. No word yet if the CrossBuy rule applies, enabling Vita owners to get it for free if they own the previous version.
Regardless, this game is certainly worth it, no matter what format you buy it in. Check it out on PS3 while you wait for the portable version.
