Oh, irony, you are a cruel, fickle beast.
Weeks after addressing the media and pointing out video games as a source for gun violence in today’s society, the National Rifle Association has, in fact, released their latest video game, this one for the mobile front. NRA: Practice Range is now available for download on the App Store and other mobile servers, and is for players 4 and up. Yes, you can apparently invite your kids to take part in an NRA gaming experience.
But you aren’t shooting anything out of the ordinary, like humans or deer. The game instead has you taking aim at targets of various sorts, in either a target range or in the woods, using a number of weapons.
Apparently the NRA is trying to hammer home the message that shooting IS okay, provided it’s in a controlled environment. But still, the release of Practice Range is a little too close for comfort with their recent comments, and recommending the game for ages 4 and up – despite its content – is kind of a cheesy move.
Oh, and you can stay up-to-date on NRA legislations, news and state-to-state rights as well. When you’re not shooting, that is.
