The Wii U is going to have a LOT to offer this coming Sunday, but, unfortunately, one of the primary entertainment services that Nintendo has been touting for it won’t be immediately available.
The company announced today that the Nintendo TVii service, which will enable users to watch whatever they want through a number of services, won’t be a day one launch. Instead, it’s being planned for a huge release sometime this December, along with the Hulu Plus and Amazon Streaming Video apps, as well as YouTube and other services.
But there is some light at the end of the tunnel. Netflix has confirmed that their streaming services will be live on the GamePad-enabled system on its first day of release, though it won’t be integrated with the Nintendo TVii set-up until early 2013. Not the end of the world – and hey, you have something to watch, right?
Look for the Wii U this Sunday. We’ve got a how-to guide launching on Prima Games a bit later today, and a run-down of games coming on Monday!
