While a lot of focus has gone into next-generation consoles this week, Nintendo still has a lot to offer. The company has announced its recent eShop update, which is now live, and features a number of games well worth downloading.
Leading the charge on the Wii U eShop are a few retail releases, including Mario & Sonic At the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games, which will debut tomorrow. Sega’s game incorporates GamePad and Wii Remote Plus play into one fun multiplayer package.
Other retail games that are available include Hot Wheels: World’s Best Driver, Zumba Fitness World Party and, coming this Tuesday, Barbie Dreamhouse Party. D3’s Adventure Time: Explore the Dungeon Because I Don’t Know! will also release on the 19th.
A new demo is also available for both Wii U and 3DS, featuring Sega’s Sonic: Lost World in action. If you’re a little unsure about picking the game up, here’s your chance to try it out.
Finally, Uncharted Waters: New Horizons joins the Virtual Console line-up on Wii U for an affordable $7.99.
On the 3DS front, Jett Rocket II: The Wrath of Taikai released yesterday, providing some great platforming thrills for the low price of $8.99. It was released as a special Nintendo Direct treat, following the company’s latest Internet special.
Other games out for 3DS this week include the over-the-top action game Senran Kagura Burst, World Conquerer 3D, Word Wizard 3D, Jewel Match 3 and Secret Mysteries In New York. Retail releases include Hot Wheels: World’s Best Driver, Girls’ Fashion Shoot, Barbie Dreamhouse Party, Frozen: Olaf’s Quest and Adventure Time: Explore the Dungeon Because I Don’t Know! Those prior three games will release on the 19th.
Finally, various Zelda games are on sale this week. The Legend of Zelda and The Adventures of Link are available on Wii U and 3DS for $3.49 apiece, and handheld owners can also get The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening DX for the low price of $3.99. The sales last through next Wednesday.
Happy downloading!
