Nintendo Confirms LEGO Animal Crossing Sets Are Coming

The rumors are confirmed!

It’s official; Nintendo has confirmed that LEGO Animal Crossing sets are in the works. While no specific details or release dates are available to the public, a promotional clip from Nintendo of Europe released on October 5, 2023, highlights several popular characters, including Tom Nook, Isabelle, and various villagers.

Considering this is the first public display for the LEGO Animal Crossing set, we speculate Nintendo will release it soon, with an estimated launch date of sometime in early- to mid-2024. With the possibility of delays, the exact date is uncertain for now.

In the ten-second promotional video, we glimpse several features of a potential Animal Crossing Lego set, including characters like Rosie, Bunnie, and Marsahl, alongside decorative plants and trees, and even a flying gift you normally shoot down with a slingshot in the games. As of now, there are no further details on what the set will contain. Still, we can safely speculate we’ll see additional buildings like Nook’s Cranny, Resident Services, and other popular stops you see throughout the games.

Since Animal Crossing: New Horizons’ release years ago in 2023, we’ve seen several merchandise items launch, from standard plushies to a Monopoly set. With the announcement of the LEGO set, fans are already flocking to the tweet’s comments to express excitement.

This isn’t the first time Nintendo has collaborated with LEGO to create sets, with numerous options available from the Mario franchise. From smaller sets to ones costing several hundred dollars and allowing you to recreate the Nintendo Entertainment System, we’ve seen various Nintendo-Lego collaboration sets surface before. However, with this being the first Animal Crossing set to emerge, we may see multiple versions released in 2024, ranging in price, complexity, and number of pieces.

Currently, there have yet to be any follow-up posts from Nintendo or LEGO that expand upon this announcement.

This story is still developing; we will continue updating it as Nintendo and LEGO reveal more information.
