Even though the latest title from Tango Gameworks, Ghostwire: Tokyo, has yet to be released, the studio is already hard at work on its next game.
As reported by IGN, the news comes courtesy of studio founder Shinji Mikami who recently sat down with Phil Spencer as part of Microsoft’s livestream at TGS 2021.
While we know next to nothing about this game, we do know that it’s being led by the director of The Evil Within 2, John Johanas.
New Tango Gameworks in Development Headed by the Director of The Evil Within 2
This year’s Tokyo Game Show has been an eventful one in regards to news about upcoming and unannounced games. In regards to unannounced games, Tango Gameworks is reportedly working on their next game.
The Evil Within 2 director John Johanas is leading the project according to statements from Tango Gameworks founder Shinji Mikami during Microsoft’s TGS 2021 livestream.
“Right now, John is in the middle of working energetically on a new game,” noted Mikami.
While we wish we had more information to share beyond this, it’s all we have unfortunately. It’s an exciting development regardless of how vague it is, and we’re eager to see what John Johanas is able to whip up as we really enjoyed The Evil Within 2.
Could we be looking at The Evil Within 3 here? Only time will tell. In the meantime, Tango Gameworks is working on Ghostwire: Tokyo which is set to release in 2022. We still don’t have an exact release date yet for Ghostwire: Tokyo, either.
With that in mind, we imagine we won’t hear too much about this new project until after the release of Ghostwire: Tokyo. While we wait to hear more about the release of Ghostwire: Tokyo and this new project led by John Johanas, we’re curious to hear your thoughts.
