New Tactical Shotgun Added to Fortnite with v9.40 Update

Fortnite players now have a new Tactical Shotgun to use on their quest for Victory Royales.

Fortnite Battle Royale is no stranger to having new pieces of content added to it every week. This is no different for Wednesday, July 17th, as Epic Games officially brought a new Tactical Shotgun weapon to the battle royale title with the implementation of the v9.40 update.

The new Tactical Shotgun is an Epic and Legendary variant of the Tac Shotgun that has been a staple weapon in Fortnite from the very beginning. Players can now find this new weapon from floor loot, chests, supply drops, loot carriers, and vending machines across the Fortnite map.

You can find the full range of statistics for the v9.40 update weapon below.

  • 83 / 87 maximum damage.
  • 1.5 shots per second.
  • Holds 8 shells.
  • Headshot multiplier of 2.25.

From early impressions of the new Fortnite Tactical Shotgun, it looks as though the newly added weapon is a powerful tool that will be a strong addition to the inventory of any player in a match. However, it remains to be seen if the addition of the v9.40 update weapon causes an overabundance issue with the loot pool of the battle royale game, as there are already a plethora of shotguns available for the community to use.
