Nintendo has confirmed that Wii U launch title, New Super Mario Bros. 3, is capable of running at full 1080p resolution.

Previous hints seemed to indicate that launch titles would only be able to run at 720p (oh noes), despite the Wii U’s 1080p abilities.
This is not the case at all, the game’s official site recently announcing the following: “Experience Mario like never before… in full 1080p HD, only on the Wii U console!”
Toki Tori, another 2D platformer, is currently the only other launch title that’ll run at 1080p on the Wii U. We’re still waiting to see if the Mass Effect 3 Wii U port will run at this holiest of resolutions.
